In case you missed it: on August 25th, the Asheville City Council voted unanimously to end single-family zoning and bring more housing options to our city!
By allowing for larger accessory dwelling units and duplexes in all residential districts, we are one step closer to a more walkable, sustainable Asheville.
With these changes to our zoning code, Asheville can better build up and within city limits, reducing the negative impacts of sprawl while developing tighter-knit communities in the process. Duplexes and ADUs are more affordable options, and they will help us meet the challenge of the housing shortage in our city.

And once you’ve sent your email, RSVP to join our happy hour on September 14th to celebrate with other housing advocates and community members!
